Navy clinches the title at SLCG Sea Swimming Championship – 2019

A team of SLN swimmers took part in the Two Mile Open Sea Swimming Championship – 2019, organized by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) off the beach of Sri Lanka Lifesaving Training School, Balapitiya yesterday (16th March).

The event was attended by over 400 competitors representing the tri-services and swimming clubs across the country. However, Able Seaman Nadeera Perera of the Sri Lanka Navy, recording 01 hour and 15 minutes, finished the event first and clinched the title of SLCG Sea Swimming Championship – 2019

Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga, Director General Coast Guard graced the event as the Chief Guest. Director Sports of Sri Lanka Navy, Commodore Jayantha Gamage, officers from tri-services and athletes were also present on this occasion.
