A person engaged illegal fishing held by Navy

A person who engaged in illegal fishing with banned nets was nabbed by a group of Naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command, during a patrol carried out at Paramoon sea area in baththalangunduwa, yesterday (16^th March).

The nabbed person is a 24 years old resident of Kalpitiya area. A dingy, an Out Board Motor (OBM) and 04 banned nets 50m long each were taken into naval custody and the suspect along with nabbed items were handed over to the office of the Fisheries Inspector-Puttalam for further investigation.
