Three held by Navy for illegal fishing without passes

Three (03) persons who engaged in illegal fishing without fishing passes, at Valachchanai lagoon area were apprehended by a group of Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command on patrol, yesterday (10^th March). A dinghy and a fishing net used by them were also taken into naval custody.

Accordingly, the apprehended persons along with the dinghy and fishing net were handed over to the office of the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Batticoloa for legal action.
