Navy joins celebration of International Women’s Day celebrations

The national ceremony to mark the International Women’s Day celebrations 2019 was held at the Salgadu Grounds in Anuradhapura yesterday (08^th March), under the patronage of the President, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena. The event was also attended by Minister of Women and Child Affairs and Development of Dry Zones, Hon. Chandrani Bandara, Chief Minister of the North Central Province, Hon. Sarath Ekanayake, Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage and a group of lady officers and woman sailors.

On the sidelines of the national ceremony, a trade fair and an exhibition showcasing the products of female entrepreneurs were held at the Salgadu Grounds on 07^th and 08^th March. Accordingly, an impressive stall depicting its pomp and pride of the organization had also been set up by the Navy and it caught the attention of the public who was present on the occasion.
