Three (03) persons nabbed for catching lobsters

Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a search carried out in the sea area of Malaimunthal yesterday (08^th March), nabbed 03 persons for catching lobsters without valid permits.

During this raid, 03 pairs of diving fins, 03 snorkels and 31 illegally caught lobsters were taken into naval custody. Meanwhile, 25 lobsters that were alive when found were released back to the ocean.

The suspects whom were taken into custody are residents of Muttur, aged 30, 39 and 40. The apprehended persons along with the diving gear and remaining 06 lobsters were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Trincomalee for onward legal action.
