Navy nabs three persons wit heroin

A troop of Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with the Narcotic Division of Mannar Police apprehended a woman with a person who were selling heroin during a raid carried out at Ulluppukulama area in Mannar, yesterday (01^st March) 5.20g of heroin was recovered in possession of them and the mobile phone used for drug selling, apprehended persons and the heroin were handed over to Mannar Police by Police Narcotic Division for onward legal action.

Further, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with Police STF-Kalawanchikudi nabbed a person who kept 37mg of heroin in his possession, during a raid conducted at Jayanthipuram area in Batticoloa on last 28th February. This person with the heroin was handed over to Batticoloa Police for legal action.

Furthermore, Sri Lanka Navy will continue to provide their assistance in the campaign of eradicating the drug menace throughout the island.
