Navy recovers the dead body of a drowned person

A diving operation in search of a person drowned and missed in Maussakele reservoir, was carried out yesterday (20^th February) and accordingly the dead body of the missed person was recovered in the morning today (21^st February).

In response to the information given to the Naval Headquarters by Maskeliya Police about this drowned person, SL Navy promptly dispatched a diving team attached to the Western Naval Command and Navy divers engaged in a strenuous task to recover the dead body which was stranded under the water.

The drowned person has been identified as 31 years old resident of 8^th street in Maskeliya and the dead body was handed over to Maskeliya Police for further investigations. This diving operation was carried out by a diving team led by Lieutenant Commander (CDO) Amith suranga.
