Members of civil staff welcome Commander of the Navy
The civil staff members of the Sri Lanka Navy organized a ceremony to welcome the 23rd Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium, SLNS Parakrama today (18th February).
Vice Admiral Silva was warmly welcomed by the Director of Civil Administration, Mr. Jayantha Edirisinghe and the proceedings of the ceremony kicked off soon after the lighting of traditional oil lamp.
Addressing the civil staff members, the Commander of the Navy appreciated the assistance given by them for the successful conduct of routine matters and administrative functions of the organization. While recognizing the years of service rendered by the civil staff members in the Navy, Vice Admiral Silva expressed that he would expect the unwavering support of them in future endeavours as well.
Marking the significance of this occasion, the Director of Civil Administration presented a memento to the Commander of the Navy. A host of senior naval officers from the Naval Headquarters along with a gathering of civil staff members were also present.
