Two (02) suspects with cannabis apprehended by Navy

Naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command in coordination with STF troops in Dikwella apprehended 2 suspects with 120g of cannabis, during a raid carried out in Dikwella area, yesterday (16^th February).

The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of Kottegoda and Dikwella areas. Meanwhile, the 02 suspects along with cannabis were handed over to the Dikwella Police for onward legal action.

Continuous raids conducted by the Navy in coordination with the STF across the country against drug peddlers have become a severe headache for them in recent times. It is this backdrop, the Navy is vigilant at all times to eradicate the drug menace from the island.
