Navy recovers dead body of drowned person

Navy recovered a dead body of a person who went missing while bathing at Kelani River today (17^th February). The deceased has been identified as a member of three brothers whom also accompanied him for a bath at Kelani River.

On receipt of a distress call from the Biyagama Police about a missing person of Malwana area in Biyagama while bathing at Kelani River, a group of 06 Navy divers including an officer attached to the Western Naval Command was swiftly rushed to the scene of incident.

Having reached the location, the team of Navy divers made a strenuous effort to recover the dead body which was lying underwater. Thereupon, it was handed over to the Biyagama Police for further investigation.
