Two persons held by Navy for illegal fishing

Two persons who engaged in illegal fishing with banned nets were nabbed in a raid carried out in Madattan beach area, Kappalthurai by a troop of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with China Bay Police, yesterday (12 February). A banned net 250m in length and a canoe used by them have also been taken into naval custody there.

Accordingly, two suspects, banned net and the canoe were handed over to China Bay Police for legal action.
