Navy apprehends 04 persons engaged in fishing without valid fishing passes

Naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command during routine patrol conducted in the sea area of Kudiramalei today (11^th February) apprehended 04 persons for engaging in fishing activities without valid fishing passes.

The Navy also took 21kg of illegally caught fish, a dinghy, an unauthorized fishing net and several other fishing gear into naval custody. The apprehended persons along with their belongings were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for onward investigation.
