Commandant and a delegation of NMA visit Indian Naval Academy (INA)
On an invitation of Indian Navy, a six-member delegation from Naval and Maritime Academy headed by the Commandant Commodore Kalana Jinadasa, visited Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Specialization Schools at INS Dronacharya and INS Venduruthy of the Southern Fleet of Indian Navy. This visit was organized in order to observe training methodology and procedures pursued in Officer training and conduct of Long Specialization Courses of Executive Branch.
Accordingly, during the visit at Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, the Sri Lankan Naval delegation paid a courtesy call on the Commandant Vice Admiral RB Pandith, Deputy Commandant Rear Admiral Puneet Chadha, and the Principal Rear Admiral Amith Wikram and mementos were also exchanged to signify this occasion.
The delegation was exposed to witness Out Door Training (ODT) classes followed by presentation chaired by the Deputy Commandant and observed the existing training facilities and sports events. The visit to INA culminated with the interaction of 17 SLN officer under trainees who are undergoing training at INA. Further, the OUTs were instructed by the Commandant to do their studies with a commitment.
Thereafter, the delegation visited the schools and training institutes at Kochi in order to seek the possibility of training aids for scheduled Long Specialization Courses at NMA. They visited ASW School, Navigation and Direction School, Gunnery School, Signal School, Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC), School for Naval Airmen (SFNA), School of Naval Oceanography & Meteorology (SNOM), Diving School, Centre for Ethical Leadership And Behavioural Studies (CELABS) and Naval Institute of Educational & Training Technology (NIETT).
The head of the delegation paid a courtesy call on Flag Officer Commanding in Chief (SNC) Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla and Chief Staff Officer (Training) Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan during the visit and he also met Chief of Staff(HQSNC) Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni.
