Navy renders assistance to bring ashore a Malaysian sailor taken ill for treatment
 

Following information given by the High Commission of Malaysia to the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre stationed at the Naval Headquarters, Sri Lanka Navy today (30th January) rendered assistance to bring ashore a sailor who was taken ill onboard Royal Malaysian Naval Vessel KD Kasthuri.

On receipt of the distress call, the Navy promptly dispatched a Fast Attack Craft (FAC) attached to the Western Naval Command to retrieve the patient. Accordingly, the patient was transferred to the FAC at the sea, about 05 nautical miles south of Colombo Lighthouse and brought to the Colombo harbour. Subsequently, the patient was rushed to a private hospital in Colombo for further treatment.
