Navy recovers unauthorized fishing nets in Batticaloa lagoon area
 

A group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, recovered several unauthorized fishing nets during a raid carried out in the lagoon area of Batticaloa today (22nd January).

Accordingly, 37 unauthorized fishing nets (each was about 150 feet in length) were recovered and they were handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Trincomalee for onward legal action.
