Navy recovers banned fishing nets around Batticaloa lagoon
 

A troop of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, recovered a number of banned fishing nets during a raid carried out around Batticaloa lagoon, yesterday (19 January).

Accordingly, 25 number of illegal nets each longs about 150 ‍feet, were recovered and this lot was handed over to Assistant Director of Fisheries-Trincomalee for onward legal action.
