VNF annual camp begins in Welisara
 

In parallel with the 67^th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Volunteer Naval Force (VNF), the annual camp of volunteer naval personnel commenced at SLNS Lanka in Welisara on 04^th January 2019. Commander Western Naval Area and Commandant VNF, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna attended this occasion as the Chief Guest.

The inaugural speech of the annual camp was delivered by the Commandant VNF, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna and a host of senior naval officers including the Commanding Officer VNF, Captain Tony Perera and a large number of senior and junior sailors were present on this occasion. The first lecture of the camp was conducted on the theme of “The role and responsibility of the Navy” by Director Naval Operations Commodore Sanjeewa Dias. The annual camp is scheduled to be held until 19th January.
