Commander of the Navy calls on Commander of the Army
 

Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva who assumed duties as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters in Colombo today ( 9th January 2019). Vice Admiral Silva was accorded a Guard of Honour upon his arrival which also marked the first official meeting with the Army Commander after assumption of duties.

During cordial discussion, the Commander of the Army conveyed his best wishes to Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva on his new appointment as the 23rd Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy and further he ensured SL Army’s mutual cooperation with the SL Navy in future endeavours. Director Generals of the Sri Lanka Army and several senior officers attached to the Army Headquarters were present on this occasion and mementoes were also exchanged to signify the event.
