Commander of the Navy pays homage to sacred temples in Anuradhapura
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva paid homage to several historic Buddhist temples in the sacred city of Anuradhapura today (06th January). Accordingly, he first called on the Anuradhapura Atamasthanadipathi and Chief Sanghanayake of the North Central Province of the Malwattte Maha Vihara Chapter of the Shyamopali Maha Nikaya, Most Ven. Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero.
During this meeting, Commander of the Navy also offered the Chief Prelate Ata Pirikara and received the blessings of the Triple Gem. Subsequently, the Navy Commander and accompanying party arrived at the Uda Maluwa and paid homage to the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, where Seth Pirith was chanted invoking blessings on the Navy Commander and the entire naval family.
Thereupon, Commander of the Navy and accompanying members arrived at the Ruwanweli Maha Seya for worship and call on the Chief Incumbent of the temple to receive his blessings. Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage and a host of senior naval officers were also present on these occasions.
