Islamic prayers shower blessings on 68th anniversary of Navy
In parallel with a series of events organized for the upcoming 68th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, Islamic religious observances were performed at the Fort Jumma Mosque on Chatham Street on 06th December.
During the event, customary Islamic religious prayers invoked blessings on the Navy and all naval personnel. Commandant Naval Infantry and Director Marine Force, Rear Admiral Udeni Serasinghe, Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore Sudath Kurukulasooriya, and Director Naval Medical Services (Diagnostic and Curative) Commodore Pubudu Marambe were present on this occasion.
Further, President of Sri Lanka Navy Muslim Association, Commander TP Marso, a number of Muslim naval personnel serving in the Navy, officers and sailors also attended this religious event. The event was organized by the naval personnel attached to SLNS Parakrama under the directives of its Commanding Officer, Captain Mahesh De Silva.
