Navy recovers dead bodies of 03 drowned persons
 

Navy divers managed to recover dead bodies of 03 drowned persons at separate locations in the island over the last couple of days.

Based on information provided by the Theldeniya Police, a group of Navy divers found the dead body of a person who jumped into the Victoria reservoir from the bridge of Oruthota, after a family dispute on 29th November. The divers made a strenuous effort in search of the missing person and were able to find the dead body which was subsequently handed over to the Theldeniya Police for onward action.

Meanwhile, responding to a request of the Pussellawa Police on 01st December, a team of Navy divers was rushed to a waterfall located near the Sanquhar power station in the Police Division of Pussellawa to find a drowned student of Ranabima Royal College, Gannoruwa. The student went missing while bathing in the waterfall on 30th November. After hours of search underwater, the naval personnel managed to recover the dead body of the youth. The dead body was handed over to the Pussellawa Police for further investigation.

Further, Navy divers also found the dead body of a person drowned at Makulmade Weva in Ganewatta on 01st December. The deceased persons had been fishing in the tank before he accidentally fell into water. On receipt of information of this unfortunate incident from the Wellawa Police, a team of Navy divers hurried away to the scene of the mishap and commenced search to locate the missing person. The recovered dead body was handed over to the Wellawa Police for onward action.
