Final of Navy Public Speaking Competition- 2018 to be held on 30th November
On successful completion of the semifinals of the Navy Public Speaking Competition- 2018 held on 16th November, the final 10 contestants of the event are ready to hog the limelight, during the final which is scheduled to be held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium, Navy Headquarters on 30th November 2018.
This timely initiative mooted by the Sri Lanka Navy Research Wing in 2016, in a bid to hone the public speaking ability of the naval officers, has delivered rich dividends over the last three years. The competition is conducted under two categories (senior and junior) and cash incentives are also to be awarded to the winners of the competition in each category.
Commodore (ASW) Anura Danapala is the chief adjudicator of the competition and Captain (H) Prasad Kariyapperuma, Captain (IT) Chaminda Ranaweera and Lieutenant Mahinda Piyarathne are among the rest of the judges to make the final decision.
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe is expected to grace the final of the Navy Public Speaking Competition- 2018, as the Chief Guest. Representing all naval commands, a large gathering of officers and sailors are due to spectate this exiting finale that is going to crown the ultimate winners.
