Navy assists conduct of medical outreach programme organized by SLCOMM in Welioya
Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine [SLCOMM] conducted a large-scale medical outreach programme including a field health clinic at the Paranagama Wewa Vidyalaya in Gajabapura, Welioya on 17th November 2018.
The naval medical staff, under the directives of Director General of Naval Health Services, Rear Admiral Sena Rupa Jayawardena, worked their hearts out for the successful conduct of this field medical clinic, in close collaboration with the medics of the tri forces.
More than 1,156 patients in the Welioya area where the standard medical facilities are hard to come by, benefited from the clinic held free of charge. A Large number of medical officers including a number of consultants in the fields of pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology rheumatology, ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, radiology, family medicine and general physician and paramedical professionals also voluntarily rendered their service during this clinic.
This magnanimous effort of the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine and the tri forces also received high praise from the public in the area.
