Joint Christian Commemoration and Thanksgiving Service in Colombo to invoke blessings on 68th anniversary of Navy
Sri Lanka Navy, which claims for a proud history will be celebrating her 68th anniversary on 9th December and the Christian Service in view of this 68th anniversary was held at the St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo yesterday (13th November). During the religious event, blessings were invoked on the all naval personnel both serving and retired, who are sick and disabled and naval war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice, by the His Lordship Rt. Revd. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, the Bishop of Jaffna.
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, President of the Navy Christian Council, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe, Director Generals of the Navy, former Navy Commanders, retired and serving senior naval officers and a large number of naval personnel attended the service.
