Sri Lanka Navy Inter Command Sailing Tournament 2018
The Sri Lanka Navy Inter Command Sailing Tournament 2018 was held in the alluring waters in front of the Commander Shanthi Bahar Memorial Sailing Club in Trincomalee on 25th and 26th October 2018. A total of 110 athletes representing all naval commands took part in this year’s tournament to clinch the coveted titles.
The tournament was comprised of both male and female events and its prize awarding ceremony was held at the Commander Shanthi Bahar Memorial Sailing Club on 26th October on a colourful note. The Deputy Area Commander of the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Noel Kalubowila graced the prize awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest. A large number of senior officers and sailors were also present on this occasion.
The Northwestern Naval Command emerged overall champions in the men’s category and its runners up position was grabbed by the Training Command.The championship in the women’s category was won by the Eastern Naval Command and the Western Naval Command secured its runners up slot. Further, the champion sailors were awarded medals in recognition of their exceptional performances.
