SLNS Sagara nominated as the Best ship of 2017
 

The best ship among the ships belonging to the Sri Lanka navy, is selected annually. Sports events, Naval knowledge, rope handling, mock war exercises among the ships and the ship recorded the highest number of nautical miles in navigation, are considered as the selection criteria.

Accordingly, SLNS Sagara has been selected as the Best ship in the year 2017 by Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet and the plaque engraved a star mark with the year for this victory, was unveiled onboard the ship by the Commander Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna, yesterday (6^th Oct). Commanding Officer of the ship Captain(C) Janaka Nissanka and officers/sailors in the crew attended this occasion.
