North Central Naval Command becomes champs of inter command combat competition
Inter Command combat competition is organized in view of commending and making professionally competent officers and sailors from the naval personnel who have followed Special Operations Course and Basic Land Operations Course representing all Naval Commands. Accordingly, this year's tournament as the 11th consecutive year, was held at SLNS Shiksha for ten days with the participation of 14 officers and 238 sailors.
The Prize Awarding Ceremony of the competition was conducted on last 21st Sep, the last day of the course and Commander Northern Naval Area Rear Admiral Meril Wickramasinge graced the occasion as the chief guest. At the Prize Awarding, Recruit DP Priyarathna of NCC adjudged as the Best Shooter of combat competition and Medical Assistant RAS Niroshan of NCC secured the title of Best Shooter in the SOP course. As per the achievements, the overall championship was won by North Central Naval Command while Western Naval Command became the Runners up.
Commandant Naval Infantry & Director Marine, Rear Admiral Udeni Serasinghe, Director Naval Land Operations, Commodore Fred Senavirathna, Deputy Area Commander (NCC) Commodore Sanath Uthpala, Commandant SLNS Shiksha, Captain Ashoka Wijesiriwardena and large number of officers and sailors were present on this occasion.
