Navy donates Rs. 05 million to Heart to Heart Trust Fund
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe made a donation worth Rs. 05 million, contributed by all naval personnel, to the Heart to Heart Trust Fund, to be a sigh of relief to the needy patients who are in need of funds for their heart surgeries. The cheque in this regard was officially handed over to the members of this magnanimous drive, Dr. Ruwan Ekanayake and Dr. Rajitha Y De Silva at the Naval Headquarters yesterday (14th September).
Sri Lanka Navy is very much instrumental in undertaking a wide ranging social responsibility initiatives across the country and came forward this time around to assist heart patients who are financially underprivileged. Incidentally, all naval personnel had contributed a sum of money from their monthly salary for this noble cause.
The occasion was also attended by Major General Jagath Dias (retd), member of the Heart To Heart Trust Fund, Commodore Nilantha Heenatigala, Acting Director General Services and Commodore Pubudu Marambe, Director Naval Medical Service (Diagnostic and Curative)
