Naval members of World Carrom Champions call on the Commander of the Navy
 

Ordinary Seaman Nishantha Fernando and Woman Ordinary Seaman Joshep Roshitha who represented the Sri Lanka Navy in the Sri Lankan team participated in the World Carrom Championship hosted by Korean Carrom Federation, called on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe at the Naval Headquarters, today (12th Sep). The players were commended by the Commander of the Navy for their exceptional performances displayed at the international arena. The President of Navy Carrom Pool Commander Gamini Rathnayake, and its Secretary Lieutenant Commander Roshan Jayathilake were also present on this occasion.

During the championship Ordinary Seaman Nishantha Fernando won the 4th place while Woman Ordinary Seaman Joshep Roshitha won the 6th place in single titles. Further, Ordinary Seaman Nishantha Fernando and Camil Cooray secured 3rd position in the Men’s double while Woman Ordinary Seaman Joshep Roshitha and Yasika Rahubadda secured 3rd position in the Women’s double. Accordingly, Sri Lankan Men’s team won the World Carrom Championship and Sri Lankan Women’s team secured the Runners-Up of World Carrom.
