Navy assists to douse fire at Bloemendhal garbage dump
 

A team of naval fire fighters assisted to douse a fire broke out at the Bloemendhal garbage dump, yesterday (4th Sep). As a quick reaction to the information of the fire, Naval Headquarters promptly dispatched two fire fighting teams attached to the Western Naval Command.

Accordingly, Naval fire fighting teams which comprised of a fire engine, water bowsers and 17 naval personnel including 2 officers taking strenuous attempt and in coordination with the fire fighters of Air Force and Colombo harbour seized the spreading fire over the area.
