Navy’s 419th RO plant declared open at the village of Daluwa
Yet another Corporate Social Responsibility project of the Sri Lanka Navy came to a close yesterday (14th August) with a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant being declared open at the village of Daluwa, Palaviya in Kalpitiya under the patronage of the Navy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva.
Going by a visionary concept of the President, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, Sri Lanka Navy has undertaken the noble cause of providing safe drinking water to poor community living in areas where high prevalence of kidney disease is recorded. The project is sponsored by the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease. Accordingly, the latest facility installed at the premises of Daluwa Sumanaramaya, at the request of the Chief Incumbent of the temple, Venerable Migettuwatte Sri Sumiththa Thero, will henceforth provide safe drinking water requirement of the community in the region.
The occasion was also attended by the Venerable Maha Sangha, District Secretary of Puttalam, Mr. Chithrananda Herath, Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sujeewa Perera, officers from the Northwestern Naval Command, distinguished guests and a large number of residents of the village.
