Navy assists cleaning campaign of Beira Lake
 

Upon the request of the chief incumbent of the Gangaramaya Temple in Hunupitiya, the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) under its Mayor Mrs. Rosie Senanayake launched a campaign to clean the Beira Lake and surrounding areas yesterday (22^nd July).

The clean-up programme which commenced at the Seema Malaka of Gangaramaya Temple was joined by the CMC, volunteer organizations and SLN Western Naval Command Headquarters’ Captain Operations Officer (West), Captain Nilantha Hewawitharana, a group of naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command, Marine Battalion and Diving Unit.
