Chief Hydrographer of the Navy calls on Chief of Defence Staff
The Chief Hydrographer of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody called on the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunratne at the office of Chief of Defence Staff on 11th July 2018.
During the meeting, the Chief Hydrographer explained the Chief of Defence Staff about the progress made by hydrographic affairs in the country and involvement of Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS) in the national arena. Also, a short documentary was screened to shed light on the naval involvement in hydrography, for the staff members of the OCDS.
Admiral Wijegunratne commended the achievements of the naval hydrographers and assured to extend his fullest support for the development of hydrography in the Navy.
Rear Admiral Jayakody handed over two charts produced by the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service, and presented a memento to the Chief of Defence Staff to mark the occasion. Director Hydrographic Operations, Director Hydrographic Data Management and Director Marine GIS & Cartography of SLNHS also attended at the event.
