Navy bids farewell to Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro
During a fitting ceremony held at the Naval Headquarters today (02nd July 2018), Sri Lanka Navy bade farewell to its Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro who completed 36 years of distinguished naval career. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe extended best wishes to the retiring senior officer before a Guard of Honour in compliance with rich naval traditions being accorded in his honour.
Subsequently, the fellow naval officers made their formal farewell to Rear Admiral Rosayro and sailors, making a street line, bade adieu to the retiring senior officer in gratitude to the exceptional service rendered for the Navy.
Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 11th Cadet Intake in year 1982. The outgoing second most high ranking officer in the organization held a number of key appointments in the Navy such as; Director General Operations, Commander Eastern Naval area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force during his naval career of exemplary nature.
