A delegation of China National Defence University visits Southern Naval Command
A delegation of China National Defence University headed by Lieutenant General Ziao Tian Liang who are on an official tour to Sri Lanka visited Southern Naval Command, yesterday (20th June). Upon the arrival, they were received to the Southern Naval Command, according a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions. The delegation is comprised of 24 Chinese service personnel.
Thereafter, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera. They held cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest and mementos were also exchanged to mark the event. Deputy Area Commander of SNC Commodore Hasitha Gamage and the Senior Officers in the area were also present on this occasion.
Further, Lieutenant General Ziao Tian Liang with the delegation paid a visit to historical Galle Fort and the Galle Fort Maritime Museum. This occasion was attended by Commanding Officer SLNS Dakshina Captain Jagath Premarathna, Commanding Officer SLNS Jayasagara Commander Dumindu Abewickrama and Defence Advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka Senior Colonel Xu Jianwei.
