Navy wins men’s title in Defence Services Triathlon
 

The Defence Services Triathlon Championship that commenced at the Dikovita Fisheries Harbour came to a close at the Malima Club House premises in Uswetakeiyawa on 09 June 2018. The competition was represented by a number of triathletes from the tri-services. Making the Navy’s mark in the competition Leading Physical Training Instructor, JNSN Kumara and Leading Diver HMDD Bandara secured the 1st and 2nd places respectively. Apart from that Able Diver JDDP Jayasinghe became the 4th in the event paving the way for the Navy to clinch the overall championship in the men’s category.

Director General Health Services of Sri Lanka Air Force, Vice Marshal LR Jayaweera graced the post-event presentation ceremony, as the Chief Guest. Director Sports of Sri Lanka Navy, Commodore Lasantha Gamage, President Sri Lanka Navy Triathlon, Captain Ravindra Thisera and a cross section of senior and junior officers from the tri-forces were also present on the occasion.
