Interest free loans granted to 40 senior sailors
Another 40 senior sailors of Sri Lanka Navy were granted interest free loan facility, amounting to five hundred thousand rupees (Rs.500,000/=) each, by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe at the Naval Headquarters, today (02 May 2018). Personal Secretary and Aide to the Commander of the Navy, Captain Aruna Tennekoon and Manager Naval Benefit Foundation, Lieutenant Commander KM Dayananda also attended the occasion.
This interest free loan facility was launched for the senior sailors, in recognition of their long service in the Sri Lanka Navy and 1,317 senior sailors have been facilitated to date. As at present, a total of 659.2 million rupees has been incurred for the programme and it is being progressed to provide the same facility for another 3,885 senior sailors in time to come.
