Rear Admiral Sujeewa Perera assumes duties as Commander Northwestern Naval Area
 

Rear Admiral Sujeewa Perera assumed duties as the newly appointed Commander Northwestern Naval Area today (08 April 2018). His predecessor, Rear Admiral Rasika Dissanayake formally handed over the duties of the position to the incoming Area Commander at his office located at SLNS Barana.

Rear Admiral Perera was accorded a Guard of Honour and received to the Northwestern Naval Command. A similar formation followed suit to honour the outgoing Rear Admiral Dissanayake after he was congratulated by fellow officers of the Northwest Naval Command. Deputy Area Commander, Commodore YMGB Jayathilaka, Heads of Departments and a number of senior officers also attended the occasion.
