Director Institute of Naval Medicine at INHS Asvini in Mumbai, Surgeon Commodore Sheila Mathai paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe and held a cordial discussion at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo today (23 March).

Subsequently, Commodore Mathai shared a light moment with Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral Sena Rupa Jayawardana pertinent to the matters of health services. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark these occasions.

Thereupon, she took time off to visit the Navy General Hospital Colombo and had a friendly interaction with Medical Officers and staff members as well. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that the facilities available NGH (Cbo) and the professionalism of its medical staff were of the highest standard. Further, she went on to say that the cordial relationship between the two navies were very long standing and the training opportunities provided to SLN by Indian Navy was beneficial to strengthen goodwill and trust among them.
