Navy transfers injured fisherman ashore for treatment
 

SLNS Ranarisi the Fast Gun Boat attached to Eastern Naval Command promptly transferred an injured fisherman who was onboard a fishing trawler, ashore for treatment today (20 March).

This fisherman had got one of his eyes injured due to a fishing hook and he was onboard a trawler which had left the Galle fisheries harbour for fishing on last 7th.

On receipt the information about the patient a naval craft on petrol was dispatched to the location 225 nautical miles off Foul Point. Accordingly, the patient was safely transferred to the Naval Dockyard and admitted to Trincomalee General Hospital for treatment.
