Commander of the Navy visits Eastern Naval Area
 

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe visited the Eastern Naval Area yesterday (5th March). Upon his arrival, Commander of the Navy was received by Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Nimal Sarathsena and was accorded with a guard of honour.

During the tour, Commander of the Navy inspected the progress of construction projects of NAD jetty and Saigan jetty at Naval Dockyard and thereafter declared open the newly constructed accommodation building at Wardroom.

The Officers’ Institute which was built to facilitate the officers of Eastern Naval Area was also declared open by Commander of the Navy and he took time off to speak with the sailors who attended the construction and appreciated their good work. To mark this visit, a memento was presented to Commander of the Navy by Commander Eastern Naval Area.

Director General Services Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe, Senior Officers of the Eastern Naval area were also present at the event.
