Leading PTI JMSN Kumara tops Sri Lankan participation at Ironman 70.3
 

The long distance triathlon race, Ironman 70.3, was held at the Galle Face Green in Colombo on 25 February with the participation of 612 contestants from 62 countries. Representing the Sri Lanka Navy 5 athletes contested in the event and Leading Physical Training Instructor, JMSN Kumara secured the 25^th position of overall competition. Incidentally, he became the 3^rd in the age category of 25-29 and 1^st among Sri Lankan contestants who took part in the competition.   

Based on the performances of Leading Physical Training Instructor Kumara, he was qualified to participate in IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship 2018 which is scheduled to be held in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa on 01 and 02 September this year.
