Commander Northern Naval Area declares open several facilities at SLNS Uththara
 

Marking his last tour of inspection at SLNS Uththara before the relinquishment of duties as Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva declared open several newly constructed facilities at the naval premises in Kankesanthurai yesterday (22 February).

Accordingly, he declared open the ground floor of new Command Wardroom Complex, Command Civil Engineering Building and the Parade Ground of SLNS Uththara. During the visit, the Commander Northern Naval Area also took time off to address the ship’s crew and he was presented a special memento by the officers of SLNS Uththara, to mark this occasion. Heads of the Departments and a host of officers and sailors of the bases also attended these events.
