Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage assumes duty as Commander North Central Naval Area
 

Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage assumed duty as Commander North Central Naval Area today (19 February). Accordingly, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe who previously held the office formally handed over the duties of this responsible appointment to his successor at the Command Headquarters.

The newly appointed Area Commander was accorded a Guard of Honour and he assumed duty of the new position after inspection of the Ceremonial Guard.

The outgoing senior officer was also accorded a special Guard of Honour before he left the North Central Naval Command mounted on a decorated vehicle, amidst the wishes of fellow naval officers. The occasion was also attended by Deputy Area Commander of North Central Naval Area, Commodore Priyantha Perera, Heads of the Departments, Commanding Officers and a host of senior and junior naval officers.
