Navy apprehends 9 persons for illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command apprehended 9 persons who were engaging in illegal fishing practices using banned nets at the sea areas off Nachchikuda and Pesalai, yesterday (16 January).

Two dinghies, a Vallam (traditional boat ) and 3 banned nets used for fishing activities were also taken into Naval custody. The apprehended persons with their fishing gears were handed over to Police stations at Mulankavil and Pesalai for further action.
