Navy undertakes relief work in wind-lashed Divulapitiya
Naval personnel attached to the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) undertook relief work in Divulapitiya area to return normalcy in household and related chores of the residents, following the winds that swept across the area in the last couple of days.
Naval troops removed trees and utility poles fallen on the road leading from Divulapitiya to the village of Diklanda and cleaned the Diklanda Viharaya premises which had become untidy with fallen trees and branches. Further, they extended relief efforts to clear trees which had fallen on private property causing much damage. The Navy being a first responder on the scene of an emergency, remains vigilant to extend its relief efforts around the clock.
