Navy arrests six local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to North Central Naval Command arrested six local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing using banned fishing nets in the Vedithalativu sea area yesterday (09 January). A dinghy, 7 diving masks, a GPS and 5 banned nets were also taken into custody during the raid.

The arrested persons along with the fishing gears were handed over to the Adampan Police for further investigations.
