Buddhist religious programme conducted to mark 35th anniversary of SLNS Parakrama

An all-night Pirith Chanting ceremony on 05 January followed by an alms giving for 20 Bhikkus was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium to mark the 35th anniversary of the naval establishment, SLNS Parakrama in Colombo.

The religious event was conducted under the guidance of the Commanding Officer SLNS Parakrama, Captain Anil Bowatta. During the programme blessings were invoked on the Commander of the Navy and all naval personnel. Senior officers from the Western Naval Command, Commanding Officers of ships and craft and a large number of senior and junior sailors were also present on this occasion.
