Navy distributes saplings to schools in Colombo
 

Under the able guidance of the Commanding Officer Navy Hospital Complex Welisara, Commander (C) Antony Weerasinghe, the hospital staff launched another altruistic drive of distributing saplings of various kinds to the schools in Colombo in recent months.

Accordingly, the saplings were distributed among Basilica Primary School and Basilica College in Ragama, Neligama Sri Sangamiththa Maha Vidyalaya, St. Joseph's College, St. Joseph's College for Deaf in Ragama and De Mazenod College in Kandana. Further, Navy’s landscaping teams imparted their expertise for proper plantation of those saplings. The wide variety of plants included saplings with herbal and commercial value as well as beautiful garden plants.

The principals, teachers and children of respective schools expressed their gratitude to the Commander of the Navy and entire Navy for engaging in this effort to create a lean and green environment at the school premises.
