Commander of the Navy attends graduation ceremony of 11th course of DSCSC
The graduation ceremony of the 11th course of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Batalanda, was held under the patronage of His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Maithripala Sirisena at the conference hall of the DSCSC today (13 December). Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe was also present on this occasion as an invited guest.
The State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Kapila Waidyaratne PC, Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, former commanders of tri-services, senior officers from both local and foreign defence services and a large number of distinguished guests attended this graduation ceremony.
The 11th Course of the DSCSC commenced on 03 January 2017 and it was attended by 128 officers from local and foreign defence services. Accordingly, 23 officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, 65 officers from the Sri Lanka Army and 26 officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force were graduated on successful completion of their course. Further, 14 officers from Bangladesh, Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sudan, Vietnam and USA have successfully completed their Defence Services Command and Staff course.
